Festival Programme 2017

This year we have a Spring Festival packed with great activities for the whole family and lots of great opportunities to experience everything Spring has to offer! Here is an outline of the events planned for each day as well as some ideas of where to shop.


Sunday 17 Sept – A music concert in Haenertsburg Christian Church by Richard Cock and the Johannesburg Festival orchestra.  Starts 18:00. R100/person. Contact Linda 082 575 5738

Every day 22 September to 25 September:
Haenertsburg Village Hall: 09:00 – 17:00.   Outstanding art and wonderful craft stalls with beautiful things for everyone! The hall will be open every day and you can browse at your heart”s delight. Craft and food stalls in the surrounding gardens.

Every day 23 September to 01 October:
Magoebaskloof Hotel:
09:00 – 17:00: Dickie Dagge Hall offers wide selection of goodies to buy. From artisan liquors to sweets, to condiments and pickles.  Shop for handcrafted clothing and beautiful works of art.  Jewelry from a master gold smith. Browse the garden section for beautiful plants and shrubs.  Orchid exhibition all day every day.

Saturday, Sunday and Monday 23-25 September
Magoebaskloof Hotel 09:00 – 14:00 Kids entertainment.

Saturday and Sunday 23 – 24 September
Tzaneen Flower show

Saturday 23 September – Lamb on the spit at Minki’s Coffee Shop. Join them for a day in the sun on the lawn. 015 276 4781

Sunday 24 September
Spring Flower Walks with Sylvie Kremer-Köhne. The meeting point from 10:am. will be on the FroHG website www.haenertsburg.co.za/FROHG/ closer to the time, depending on fires and weather conditions.

Richard Cock and the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra in the Barnyard Theatre at Stanford Lake College. Wonderful performance.  Bring a picnic basket or get a light meal from Rotary Haenertsburg at the theatre, cash bar available Entrance R180/person. Starts 18:00, Linda Miller 082 575 5738

Wednesday 27 September
Spring Flower Walks with Sylvie Kremer-Köhne. The meeting point from 10:am onwards will be on the FroHG website www.haenertsburg.co.za/FROHG/ closer to the time, depending on fires and weather conditions.

Saturday 30 September
Magoebaskloof 5km Fun Run at Blueberry Heights Farm. Saturday 30 September, run starts 8am. No registration required and entry is free. Walkers and runners welcome to enjoy a beautiful scenic 5km route around the farm. More info: Jon 083 880 8787

Mountain Cafe: Elegant, family friendly farm restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. Open Wednesdays to Sundays between 9am – 9pm (Closed Mondays and Tuesdays). Located at Blueberry Heights Farm.
